Denise Budz

Denise brings a wealth of administrative and management experience from a career in Nursing and with a focus in Cancer and Palliative Care. Denise is currently the Director for Provincial Programs with the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency. She was part of a phenomenal group to open the first Palliative Care Unit in the province at St. Paul’s Hospital in 1990. While at SPH, she had the opportunity to join the SPH Foundation Board. She lead the Provincial Oncology Nursing and the Provincial Palliative Care Association Group. She served as the SK representative at the National level. Denise is a strong supporter and advocate of person-centered care that includes the family. She is a believer that individuals with a palliative condition should be supported in the location of their choice as well to be supported to die in the location of their choice. Denise is delighted to be able to utilize her skills and experiences she has gained in her career to help Prairie Hospice reach its objectives. When not working Denise enjoys traveling, gardening, golfing and camping with her husband Mark and two adult daughters.
