Heather brings her work experience as a physician and educator, and personal experience as a family caregiver. A relationship-centered approach to care, a recognition of the interdependency of families, communities, and healthcare providers to co-create whole-person care, has defined her clinical practice as a general internist. Education and research initiatives continue to focus on team-based collaborative care for chronic disease, inclusive of patients and family caregivers as participants in the care team. Joining the Prairie Hospice Society Board provides an opportunity to participate in a relationship-centred approach to care with a community focus.
